Double Page Spread - Progress

This is my double page spread after editing in Xara, I had edited the text box to be smaller, meaning that there is not too much text exceeding the page. I also edited the coloured rectangle on the left to ensure that when the reader looks at this page, the first thing they notice is not the rectangle, as i aim to make the main focus the image of the artist. I added a small rectangle above the text box indicating that the double page spread is an interview with a music artist.

The image above shows the progress of my double page spread, after adding several rectangles to seperate the text from the imagery. The white space between the rectangle on the left and the indication of where my article will be placed, will be covered by an image of the artist. I have used different colours to keep the page interesting.

This is the basic layout of my double page spread. I have used the name "Julia Liewald" for the name of the arist being interviewed. As the double page spread is going to be an interview of a particular music artist, i have included large font's for the masthead, informing the reader of the artists name. The colours used in this first layout of my double page spread are bright and eye-catching, making the page interesting for the reader. The colours still seem relative to the original colours used on my front page and contents page. I decided that the colours in this magazine could be a particular theme, mainly purples. The name of the artist on my double page spread is large and bold, as well as being immediately noticeable by the reader. I have used small rectangles to seperate particular aspects of the page.
