This imply's that Madonna is the main focus of this particular magazine. With this large anchorage text, people are influenced to buy the magazine in order to read about this idolised musician.

I think that the message given from the front cover is that Madonna is an idol, and that she can be at that age and still be creating brilliant pieces of music.

The main representation of groups is groups with interest in music. This front cover portrays towards mainly female musicians as it has a large section with images and information about female artists.

The magazine represents the groups as in the sub-section giving the information about these musicians, it gives a sense that the main target audience would be female musicians, slightly giving the impression that female artists are at large recently.

The buzz words used in this front cover are simply titles of new bands or musicians in order to catch the readers interest if they like these particular bands. If the target audience notices these Buzz words, they will be tempted to read this Q magazine, Therefore having a large effect on the target audience.

The 'Puffs' suggest that the magazine will include information about several artists, and information on the "Best British Albums", therefore i know it will include information from music charts etc.

This tells me that the type of audience the magazine is aiming to get is people who enjoy british music, and

What colours are used? Do you find them attractive?

The background to the front cover is dark, and the colours used in the image are slightly dull, therefore the font colour and individual image colour used is alot brighter in order to stand out from the background. They are attractive to the reader as they are easily noticed.

What fonts are used and why?

Large, bold fonts are used in order to catch the viewers attention.

What strategies does the magazine use to attract the audience?

Several strategies are used, for example the large bright text make it easier for the viewer to spot something on the cover in order to make them want to read it. Also catchy images are placed on the front cover, to make the viewer interested.

For the front page of a college magazine, i think that images of teenagers and school equipment would be appropriate, as they seem relative to school. Preferably bright, eye catching images that are modern in order to get the viewers attention. 

Fonts that would be best for the front cover of a college magazine would be large, bold text that is easy to read from a distance, increasing the chances of attracting attention of consumers passing by. Also, the front page of a magazine targeted towards this audience should have many different subtitles scattered noticeably across the page, ranging in different topics that are included inside the magazine. This would increase the chances of a consumer noticing something they are interested in on the front page, and influencing them to buy it. 

The mastheads used should be quick and catchy quotes taken from each article to briefly summarize what is inside, and the layout of the text should be neat and put into centered paragraphs.
